I don’t know … but I suspect you won’t believe the following Deet experience I had this weekend.

I have a Lexan awning over my front porch. I sprayed 29% Deet “Repel” spray on parts of the awning on Saturday night that was being swarmed by flies and mosquitoes.

The next morning I was shocked to find these remarkable breaks and cracks all over the Lexan:

Lexan is supposed to be a very durable, damage-resistant polycarbonate that has been used by NASA!  It is astounding to see what the Deet spray did to Lexan.

I will certainly re-consider my use of DEET-based products on my skin from now on.  I always knew DEET was a serious chemical … but until this happened to my awning … I never would have believed such a thing possible.

A disturbing but not surprising analysis of the war efforts and the coverage by the mainstream media.

The DrudgeReport has a link today titled: “NEW NY METS COACH CALLS FANS ‘FERTILIZER’…” which pointed to a NY Post article by Bart Hubbuch.

Calling the Mets fans of today “fertilizer” is a compliment to the fans and an insult to fertilizer.  Mets fans started to take a nosedive in the post 1986 years.  I’ll never forget so-called Mets fans booing Gary Carter in his last year as his batting average plummeted due to terrible knee pain.  What message was booing supposed to convey to a Hall of Famer?  Those fans were complete idiots.

It’s okay to boo Aaron Heilman, but not Gary Carter, you say?  Wrong.  Who the hell boos any baseball player unless we have clear proof that the player is not giving it 100%?  Aaron Heilman certainly doesn’t strike me as a player who doesn’t give it his best.  And isn’t it a bit hypocritical that fans who could never strike out a major league baseball player themselves, or induce a double-play groundball, or hit a homerun (if they could even run the bases), will boo professionals who are light years ahead of them in regards to athletic ability?

It takes years and years of hard work and dedication and hopes and dreams and sweat and tears to make it to the majors.  Once there, if successful, major leaguers face being away from home for up to seven months out of the year.  How does one establish and maintain a family life with that type of work schedule?  And then we, the so-called fans, will boo these guys when they have a bad game, or bad month, or bad year?  I don’t have a problem booing any player who exhibits less than 100% effort.  Short of that, I think idiot fans need to remember that we’re dealing with human beings who, yes, make a lot of money but have given alot to get there and do not deserve to be booed simply because they do not meet up to our lazy-ass expectations.

Lastly … since it does appear we are dealing with human beings … have the fans ever considered cheering and encouraging a player who is in a slump?  Is it remotely possible that encouragement will help a player more than boos?  But maybe the lazy-ass fans who can’t swing a bat also are incapable of this level of thought.   Maybe the lazy-ass fans are lazy-brained too.

Too bad Al Gore can’t also be sued for his incredible hypocrisy … considering that his Tennessee home consumes a tremendous amount of electricity.

Just yesterday, I sent an email to a friend with whom I was debating Obama’s positions and promises, and I strongly criticized Obama’s negative stance on NAFTA.  It’s nice to see Obama’s growing up.
